Anne Ure

Director

I am originally from Roanoke, Virginia and graduated from BYU with a master’s degree in public policy with an emphasis in social and family welfare. I have been the director of the Child and Family Studies Laboratory (CFSL) since 1998!

Over the past 27 years, I have taught several BYU courses such as parenting and child guidance, child development in an early childhood classroom, and theoretical principles in developmentally appropriate practice. I have mentored MFT graduate students in planning and implementing parenting courses as well as worked closely with Early Childhood undergraduate majors in their various practicum courses. In addition, I have consulted with various community programs focused on young children such as serving on the board of Early Learning from 2013-2021.  I worked on the family services and finance subcommittees in addition to serving as the Board Chair for five years. I served as a consultant for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with their Come, Follow Me lessons and Children and Youth Initiative for children.

It has been a privilege to work with so many children and families who have enrolled in our BYU Preschool, Kindergarten, and STEM programs! It has been an honor to work with wonderful teachers on our CFSL team to start and operate the BYU Kindergarten in 2002 and the BYU STEM camps in 2014 as we build on the legacy of those who came before us!
